Young Adult Ministry

The Young Adult Ministry (YAM) at St. Matthias is made up of energetic adults in their 20's and 30's who support one another in their Catholic faith and work together to answer the call to Christian stewardship.  Many members of the ministry attend the 5:30 pm mass on Sunday evenings.  YAM has four committees responsible for various aspects of the ministry.

Social:
The social committee of YAM organizes dinners, shows, seasonal, and other events.  It provides an opportunity for Catholic young adults to meet one another and have fun together.
Spiritual:
Two Sunday evenings per month young adults meet after the 5:30 pm mass for spiritual enrichment.  The topic varies and may be a teaching on Catholic faith or tradition, faith sharing, or scriptural reflection, or a combination.  Check the church bulletin for the week's topic.

Community Service:
The community service committee organizes a project about once a month.  Previous projects have included donating time at the teen house or food pantry in New Brunswick, at the Martin House in Trenton, and collecting food or household items for the needy of the area.

Contact and Schedule:
Schedules of upcoming events are distributed periodically by e-mail and sometimes fliers are distributed by snail mail.  To be added to our list please send your name, e-mail address, and postal address to yamstmatthias-owner@yahoogroups.com
