Theresa M Leonetti
Theresa M. Leonetti was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided there until going to college in Scranton, PA. It was there, at Marywood College, that she earned a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and a minor in Religious Studies. She always knew that God had given her talents which she could combine to help people through music and religion. After college, Theresa participated in a mission service trip to Peru and successfully completed a six month internship in music therapy at a psychiatric hospital in New Jersey. She then worked for three years as a therapeutic staff support for children with special needs followed by two additional mission trips, one to Mexico and one to Dominica, West Indies. In 1998, Theresa was awarded the Alphonsian Scholarship from the Redemptorist Priests and Brothers to study theology at Washington Theological Union. While attending the Union, she also served as a Chaplain-in-Residence in New South at Georgetown University. Theresa received a Master's of Divinity in May 2003, and then served as Coordinator for Pastoral Ministry with Covenant House in New York City. Returning to Georgetown University as a Chaplain-in-Residence for Harbin, She also served as assistant director of campus ministry at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, MD where she coordinated retreats and liturgies. Then Theresa came back up north to join the Pastoral Services Team at RENEW International in Plainfield, NJ where she travelled around the country working with several dioceses to build up Small Christian Communities for both adults and youth. Theresa is grateful to be here at The Catholic Community Of Saint Matthias working with Young Adults and Small Christian Communities.
