Liturgy

The Liturgy Preparation Team and Liturgy Committee endeavor to coordinate all the various elements required to celebrate the sacred liturgy in a worthy manner. Good liturgy involves both clergy (priests and deacons), and a variety of lay ministers (altar servers, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ministers of Hospitality, music ministers). In addition, a fully engaged, actively participating assembly is essential to good liturgy.

Formation

The vision of learning is to engage with the community in lifelong faith formation that nurtures and deepens one’s relationship with God. Its focus is to expand knowledge, change hearts, and transform daily lives.

Education and faith formation involves such activities as children’s religious education, youth formation, sacramental preparation, parish school, Christian Initiation, small group faith sharing and family ministry.

Community Life

Community Life is about providing opportunities for all parishioners to come together in our diversity, to offer their time and talent to address needs and to encourage community building based on trust.

Social Concerns

Social Concerns strives to understand the human needs and social injustices in the parish and wider community. Its focus is to support the spiritual, emotional, material, and physical needs to alleviate suffering and promote justice.

Administration

Administration focuses on providing infrastructure to support the parish and its ministries. This includes buildings and physical plant, finances, communications and technology.

Youth Ministry

St. Matthias Youth Ministry is an incredible opportunity for the youth of our community to discover how the Catholic faith speaks to their lives by inviting them into meaningful relationships and exciting experiences. Through a variety of events, middle and high school youth have the chance to build a stronger relationship with God, make and reconnect with friends, and discover what it means to live as a person of faith.
