Sr. Jean , a School Sister of St. Francis, OSF from the US Province which is based in Bethlehem, PA. Sr.Jean in 2009 celebrated her 47th anniversary of her vowed commitment. Sr. Jean spent the early years of her religious life as a classroom teacher and served in school administration for eighteen years and had some involvement in religious education programs, retreat ministry and for several years was a member of the community leadership team.
Sr. Jean arrived on August 24,2009 and feels privileged to be able to join the members of the Pastoral Staff here in the parish. Although Sr. Jean came from a vibrant community, St. Gregory the Great Parish in Hamilton/Robbinsville, New Jersey, she knows that she has much to learn because parishes differ in many ways. As Pastoral Associate at St. Gregory Parish, Sr. Jean was a member of a staff of eight. With 5300 households and forty-eight organizations, they were always busy ministering to the many and diverse needs of parishioners.
Her ministry included welcoming new parishioners, baptismal prep program, adult faith enrichment, visiting the sick and the homebound, ministering to the dying and to families that have lost loved ones and participating in small faith sharing groups. Sr. Jean's is Coordinator of Liturgy and the RCIA here at St. Matthias.
